Game and Fish want to ensure everyone has a safe and healthy holiday season

The Sheridan Region Office of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department is asking the public to take their time on the road. 

The request is an effort to cut down on the collision rate of regional motorists and larger game animals, mainly, deer. 

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, Public Information Specialist Christina Schmidt reported that collisions traditionally increase with Daylight Saving Time.

Game and Fish recommend taking precautions when visibility is limited, be prepared to stop and remember that few deer travel alone.

Game and Fish report that annually, there are an average of 6,000 vehicle collisions with big game in Wyoming, resulting in $20-23 million in wildlife costs and $24-29 million in personal injury costs.
