Two soldiers well-known in Sheridan have been wounded in action in the war in Europe. They are Lt. Clyde B. Matteson of Buffalo and Sgt. B.H. Robbins.
Hollis G. McBride and Leonard L. Spracklin will leave tomorrow for Fort Logan, Colo., having volunteered their services for the field artillery. Both young men are 1917 graduates of the Sheridan high school.
Russ M. Hoop has announced his candidacy for sheriff on the Democratic ticket, subject to the primaries on Aug. 20.
Upon the complaint of several citizens of Carneyville, an Austrian has been arrested there for making pro-German remarks.
