News of the signing of the armistice by Germany and of the cessation of hostilities was flashed to The Enterprise by long distance telephone at 2 o’clock this morning by the Associated Press.

The people of Sheridan were in a great measure anticipating the announcement that the most terrible war ever waged had come to an end. Mayor Camplin and the members of the city council, C.R. Massey and other members of the Loyalty League were early engaged in preparation for a rousing community celebration, including a parade at 2 p.m. today.

On account of not being able to secure help, the Crystal Bakery on North Main street has been forced to discontinue the restaurant.
