Sheridan bid a modest welcome to soldiers and sailors with a quiet Fourth of July celebration. A parade was held in the forenoon, followed by speeches and a reception at Pioneer park and a sport carnival in the afternoon.

Miss Edna Dinwiddie of Sheridan has been engaged as librarian at the Davenport library at Bath, N.Y.

Claude Hunter and Bishop Peery of Buffalo are in Sheridan for the Fourth.

Several thousand people attended the pavement dance in front of the city hall tonight, and utilized the services of a fine orchestra in closing the day’s festivities. Spectators were packed about 10 deep around the large company of dancers.
