Due to the coming coal strike, the railroad in the Sheridan district has placed on embargo the movement of livestock in order to divert every car and every engine possible to the movement of coal before the strike starts on Nov. 1.

Following practically a month of harvesting beets, the fall campaign of the Sheridan Sugar Company opened early this morning when the first beets of the fifth grinding were “flumed in” for slicing.

Walter McMahon went to Dayton yesterday on business. He expects to return this afternoon.

Farmers are experiencing unusual difficulty getting to Sheridan today for their weekly shopping, owing to bad roads.
