An attempt to rob the Court Basket store last night was frustrated by a passerby who came upon the man trying to force an entrance at the rear door. The man fled, but police were notified, and the would-be burglar was apprehended.
A man has been arrested by the sheriff, and information will probably be filed late this afternoon, for forging nearly $260 in checks.
Joe Fedick, aged 46, died this morning at his home on West Dow street of pneumonia following an attack of influenza.
