Spanish Influenza, Oct. 22, 1918

May 6, 2020

Only 32 cases of influenza were reported to the county health officer, Dr. Hurd, last night, at least nine of which were located outside of Sheridan. Dr. Hurd believes this report indicated a falling off in the spread of the malady.

City Health Officer T. E. Marshall today issued a notice warning the public of the need to burn sputum-cups and sputum-soiled clothes from influenza and pneumonia patients.

In compliance with the state board of health, funeral directors have been notified that no public funerals shall be allowed for those who have died from influenza.
