B&G Club Breakfast to Honor Edie Taffner

The 6th Annual Awards & Recognition Breakfast for the Boys & Girls Club of the Bighorns will recognize Honoree Edie Taffner.

According to a release from the B&G Club, Taffner was educated in Sheridan and Johnson County, and graduated from Johnson County High School.

In addition to being a homemaker and the mother of four children, she worked more than two decades for the Johnson County Co-op and MDU, retiring in 1993. Her service to the community, state, and nation started in 1965 when she joined the American Legion Auxiliary and she served on the board for the Community Resource Center and the Boys & Girls Club of the Bighorns for many years.

She currently serves as treasurer for the Senior Citizens Foundation Board and is also an active member of the First United Methodist Church.

The breakfast will feature a keynote address by former Denver Broncos Captain and All-Pro Linebacker Karl Mecklenburg.

He brings humor and inspiration in his storytelling. The lessons the NFL taught him about teamwork, courage, dedication, desire, honesty and forgiveness, and goal setting are his “Six Keys to Success.”

The event will be Wednesday, November 3rd, at the Boys & Girls Club of the Bighorns, located at 189 N. Cedar St. in Buffalo.

Breakfast will be served at 6:30 am with the program starting at 7 in the Club’s gymnasium.

The Breakfast is an opportunity to support youth programming at the Boys & Girls Club in Buffalo.

Contributions support crucial areas of need to build a sustainable future for Buffalo’s youth and the Club.

There is no cost to attend but those in attendance are expected to make a contribution to the Club.
