Labor shortages are continuing to impact the U.S. economy and the issue of more available jobs than workers is a reality in Sheridan County as well. Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce CEO Dixie Johnson addressed the issue at the most recent Sheridan City Council meeting.

Johnson talked about some of the things they are doing to try and mitigate the shortage of employees locally.

Johnson said you can’t point to one reason as to why the shortage is happening as there are many different things that are feeding into it. She said it isn’t just the hospitality industry that’s being affected either.

Johnson said what Sheridan County is experiencing with worker shortages is definitely a crisis and they will continue to work with the business community on solutions to lessen the impact that it’s having locally.
