The Sheridan County Airport has set a record of travelers in the 2021 year

The airport broke their previous records of enplanements with over 23,600 people using the airport as a means to travel out of Sheridan. Forty-seven thousand people used the air service as a means to travel to Sheridan in the 2021 year. According to Sheridan County Airport Manager John Stopka, the month of January in 2022 is 66% above this time in 2021.

The increase in Sheridan air travel was anticipated and planned for by both the airport management and Sheridan County Commissioners. 

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, Sheridan Commission Chairman Lonnie Wright told listeners a little bit about the next project to take place at the airport.

The expansion is still in the design phase. The size and scope of the project requires detailed planning with the Transportation Security Administration.
