Former President Donald Trump, at a rally Saturday night in Conroe, Texas, stated that if he’s reelected in 2024, he would possibly pardon the individuals who’ve been convicted of crimes related to the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney is Vice-Chair of the Select Committee that’s investigating the attack on the Capitol. In an interview on NBC Nightly News, Cheney condemned Trump’s remarks.
Cheney was not the only Republican to take issue with the former president’s remarks, as Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, an ardent Trump supporter, said he didn’t want to reinforce that defiling the Capitol was ok and he didn’t want do anything to make it more likely to happen again in the future.
