The City of Sheridan received an additional retail liquor license due to an increase in population that was reported in the 2020 Census. A subcommittee made up of Councilors Shawn Day, Steve Brantz and Jacob Martin was formed last September to develop a process for awarding that additional license. The subcommittee recently met to establish parameters on awarding the license to one of the 11 applicants that applied. Councilman Day provided an update on their recent meeting during Monday night’s council study session.

City Attorney Brendon Kerns expressed that he’d like to sit down and meet with the subcommittee in the foreseeable future.

No decision was made on whether the liquor license selection process would be established in time for the council’s regularly scheduled business meeting next week. Mayor Bridger said there’s no deadline for awarding the license and that he’d rather have it done well and encouraged the subcommittee to meet with Kerns.
