A variance for the Story Community Library was approved by the Sheridan County Commission during this week’s meeting.
According to the report on the variance, the library wants a variance from the minimum lot area zoning standards to permit reduction of a 0.41-acre parcel to 0.23-acres addressed as 22 North Piney Road.
Upon approval, 0.17 acres of the parcel would be conveyed to the Sheridan County Public Library Board of Trustees to accommodate future library expansion.
Library Director Cameron Duff addressed the variance during the meeting.
According to discussions, there is no immediate plan for library expansion, but this is the first necessary step in the process when it is determined to proceed with the project.
