Sheridan College Dental Program Seeking Patients

February 23, 2022

February is National Children’s Dental Health Month and one dental group is looking for patients of any age level that are looking for dental cleaning services.

The Sheridan College Dental Hygiene Clinic has students working on their associates degree in dentistry, and needs patients to come in for cleanings, have x-rays done and get fitted for mouth guards.

Sara Beres is the director of the dental hygiene program at Sheridan College.

She says the clinic recently opened its new wing inside the Whitney Center, and has modern day technology, but the students need patients to make the learning experience more realistic.

“We accept any individual who’s interested in getting their teeth cleaned. Our students are always looking for patients, this semester in particular. We run our clinic Monday through Friday. Granted it does take a little bit longer than the usual dental appointment. You are helping our students learn and get the requirements that they are required to get, to be a qualified dental hygienist, and graduate from our program.”
