Buffalo Police Chief Sean Bissett, in his recent report to the city council, recognized two employees for their outstanding service to the community.
The first was Officer Kevin Valentine who was named Officer of the Year at this year’s First Responders Appreciation gathering.
He then introduced an exceptional dispatcher.
Bissett also reported that April was a busy month, with 3,005 calls handled by dispatch, with officers responding to 934 of them.
The department will be implementing a body camera program and have begun training.
There were six arrests in Buffalo during the month.
He said Officer Brian McCarter saved another life during a call to local motel, where a person had ingested fentanyl and was in a life-threatening condition.
McCarter used their NARCAN kit again, and saved the subject who made a full recovery.
