Wyoming residents required to register motorized watercraft

August 10, 2022

Wyoming residents can renew their watercraft registration online and save a trip to the office. Visit the Wyoming Game and Fish Department website and click the fishing and boating tab to find a link to renew.

Residents can also get an AIS decal, conservation stamp and fishing license online as well.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, Wyoming Game and Fish Sheridan Regional Office Public Information Specialist Christina Schmidt informed listeners why some watercraft need to be registered and others do not.

If residents have a new boat to register, they can register at the office or through the mail. Schmidt reminded the public the owner or co-owner must sign the application. If the application has a signature from one of these, someone else can take it to the office for turn in. The application is online and residents can complete the form and send along copies of the title and proof of sales tax paid. Residents can mail a completed and signed application to the Cheyenne Headquarters or Sheridan office.

Regardless of what type of watercraft that is owned, motorless or not, each watercraft requires an AIS decal.
