The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) recently discussed their 2022-2028 State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) plans with the Johnson County Commission.
District Four Construction Engineer Isaac Finkle outlined the various types of projects, saying $66.6 million would be spent on current STIP projects; $44.7 million on distirct-wide bridge rehabilitation and replacement; and $24 million on contract maintenance projects through 2028.
Current projects include a mill and overlay project on Highway 16 west of Buffalo; mill and overlay on I-25 near Trabing Road; and repair on I-90 to fix damage bridge near Buffalo, that will cost roughly $870,000.
Finkle discussed a project on Highway 16 west of Buffalo for 2023 .
Future projects scheduled include a 15 mile mill and overlay project/bridge rehab on I-25 in 2023; the Buffalo Main Street rehabilitation project in 2024; a five mile mill and overlay project on Highway 16 East from Buffalo to Ucross in 2025; an 11 mile mill and overlay on Highway 16 West in 2026; a 20 mile microsurface proect on I-25 near Middle Fork; and an 11 mile mill and overlay project with a bridge replacement on I-90 West of Buffalo in 2027.
So far no projects have been scheduled for 2028.
