SHS WRESTLING NLI – Kolten Powers has signed his letter of intent (LOI) to wrestle at
Montana State Northern, located in Havre.
He is last year’s 4A 120 lbs. state runner-up, and placed 4th in the 113
lbs. weight class amongst juniors, at the National High School Athletic
Coaches Association (NHSACA) folk-style wrestling National Championship
Tournament in Virginia Beach, Virginia, which is where he won the
All-American honor.
Powers explains why he likes the sport so much and that it’s better now
that his wrestling future is taken care of.
Powers adds he had also been contacted by the Virginia Military
Institute and the US Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York.
While at MSU-Northern, he is considering majoring in business and
electrical.
BRONC / LADY BRONC HOOPS – The Sheridan high school basketball teams will resume the season January 5th, 6th and 7th at a tournament in Cheyenne.
RAMS / EAGLES HOOPS – The Big Horn Rams and Lady Rams play at Greybull Thursday and the Tongue River basketball teams get started again on January 6th.
WRESTLING – The Bronc and Tongue River wrestlers will start the new year January 6th at the “Shane Shatto” invitational in Douglas.
SWIMMING / DIVING – The Bronc swimmers and divers start the new year hosting events, on January 6th they host a pre invitational meet and the full Sheridan invitational will start at 9 am on Saturday January 7th.
INDOOR TRACK – High school indoor track season starts the first week in January for practice the first meet in January 14th in Gillette.
WYOMING BASKETBALL – The Wyoming basketball play a home game tomorrow night with ST. Mary’s, pregame at 6:00 with the tip at 6:30 live on KWYO 14-10 AM and 106.9 FM.
WYOMING FOOTBALL – The Wyoming football Cowboys play Ohio university in the Arizona Bowl December 30th.
BRONCO FOOTBALL – The Denver Broncos play at the LA Rams Christmas Day.
