Johnson County’s Commissioners, at their regular meeting Tuesday, voted to allocate funds from the Optional One-Cent Sales Tax to the One-Percent Committee to distribute to organizations not directly managed by the county, or to a joint powers board the county is a member of.

Commission Chair Bill Novotny explained further.

County Treasurer Carla Bishop gave her recommendation to the commission based on her review of sales tax revenue received by the county.

The commission voted to set their allocation of one-percent funds for this year to the committee at $200,000.
