One person is dead and two others were injured in a single-vehicle crash on I-90 east of Gillette.
According to a preliminary report from the Wyoming Highway Patrol, at around midnight this past Friday (July 21st), a vehicle with three people inside was traveling eastbound on I-90 at milepost 142.8, which is near the town of Rozet.
The Patrol says the driver fell asleep at the wheel which caused the vehicle to veer off to the right side of the interstate and into a water-filled ditch.
The vehicle then collided with the far side of the ditch and eventually stopped.
79-year old Haigui Sun of China, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was not wearing a seatbelt and died from the injuries she sustained.
The driver and the other passenger of the vehicle were also injured.
The patrol adds this is the second fatality on this particular section of highway this month.
