The Brinton Museum in Big Horn presents its 5th Artists in Residence exhibition featuring eight artists who were invited to participate in residencies in 2022. The Artists in Residence exhibition opens in the Jacomien Mars Reception Gallery on September 9 and continues through October 15. Museum Winter Hours: Thursday through Monday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Each year The Brinton Museum reaches out to accomplished artists who excel in the visual arts for up to 2-week residencies. The purpose of the residency is to offer artists a unique opportunity to create art inspired by the history and culture of the area. The magnificent scenic views and historic ranches of Sheridan County offer endless subjects for motivation.
The culmination of the artists’ residencies is a group exhibit the following year including art which has been created in the studio from the residency experience. This show is highly popular with visitors and patrons for its connection to the beauty of the area.
