A final reconnaissance report by the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) on the bridge replacement project over the BNSF Railway on County Road 140 has been approved by the Sheridan County Commission.
County Engineer Ken Muller, at the commission meeting this week, explained that WYDOT has identified the bridge in their Bridge Formula Program, which came from a Federal bipartisan law that gave states additional money to replace decrepit bridges that trickles funding down to local governments for that purpose.
Muller gave more details on the report.
According to discussions, the bridge to be replaced is near the unincorporated town of Parkman in northwestern Sheridan County.
The estimated cost of the project is $4.29 million and will be 100% funded by the Federal Government, according to a memorandum from the County Public Works Department.
