While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Sheridan County Undersheriff Lieutenant Devereaux Johnson alerted the public to a new scam that has been making the rounds on social media.

The scam is a false employment opportunity posting, offering pie in the sky promises of working from home and/or earning an outrageous salary for performing very little work.

The Undersheriff said there are signs that these types of posts are not legitimate job postings.

Legitimate companies and private small businesses do utilize social media as a technology to find employees with beneficial results for both parties. If someone feels they may be dealing with a legitimate job posting, Johnson suggests digging further before filling out any kind of application or form.
