Business for the City of Sheridan may be conducted a bit earlier than usual. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

The regular business meetings of the Sheridan City Council are held the first and third Mondays of each month at 7 pm unless a holiday falls on one of those Mondays, then the meeting is held on the following day. On Monday night, the City Council will be considering an ordinance to start the two monthly business meetings at 5:30 instead of the current 7 pm start time. The ordinance was presented to the governing body at a recent study session by City Clerk Cecilia Good.

There was some debate by members of the Council during the study session whether to include the information on the study sessions in the ordinance. The study sessions are held the second and fourth Monday of each month at 5:30 pm. The ordinance to change the start time of the regular business meetings must be approved by the Council three times before it takes effect. Prior to first reading consideration of the ordinance Monday night, there will be a public hearing on the matter.
