During their last regular meeting, Johnson County’s Commissioners voted to approve placing an initiative for a One-Percent Specific Purpose Sales and Use Tax on the ballot in November.

The tax, if approved by voters, would fund specific purposes with specific amounts, in three separate propositions, as described by Commission Chairman Bill Novotny.

Voters in Johnson County will have the choice of accepting all three of the propositions, approving none of them, or picking a combination of them to approve during the November General Election.

The commissioners approved Resolution No. 724 to place the initiative on the ballot in November.
