March is Membership Month at the Brinton Museum

Kendra Heimbuck, executive director at The Brinton Museum recently announced that Saturday, March 1 kicked off March Membership Month! During the month of March, they will explore the ways membership at The Brinton Museum helps enrich connections – connections to the land, people and cultures of the West. They will be highlighting various aspects of membership at The Brinton Museum and sharing stories of members who have found The Brinton Museum to be a meaningful place of connection.

On Friday, March 7 beginning at 5 p.m. there will be a reception for Women in Wyoming: Portraits & Interviews of Women Who Shape the West, which will be on view from March 6 to July 13.

Exhibit creator Lindsay Linton Buk and exhibition participant Rosie Berger from Big Horn, WY will present acknowledgments and introductions. Two-time World Champion Hoop Dancer and educator Jasmine Pickner Bell “Good Road Woman” (Crow Creek Dakota Sioux Tribe) from the Wind River Indian Reservation will present a hoop dance. State of Wyoming’s 9th Poet Laureate Barbara Smith from Rock Springs will give a poetry reading. The reception is offered free and open to the public.

The Brinton Museum also announced their first Member Meet-Up of the 2025 season which will take place on Saturday, March 8 at 10:00 AM. Members are invited to join in discussion with Wyoming Poet Laureate Barbara Smith who will lead a discussion about memory, helping us explore how memories shape our lives and ways to recall forgotten moments. This session will also give you tools to get creative with your own memories. Space is limited, so members should reserve their free ticket today!
