WYDOT Buffalo Main Street Update

June 12, 2025

News – Sheridan Media

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) has the latest update on the Buffalo Main Street Construction project.

Paving of the curb and gutter at the Main Street/Fort Street intersection was scheduled to begin this week with the signal being turned off and three-way stop signs in place.

Motorists should expect lane closures and flagging operations for the next few weeks.

Utility work along Main Street from Fort Street to Snyder Street continues.

Lane closures, head-to-head traffic, flagging operations, and heavy traffic and reduced speeds should be expected.

Driveways and approaches will be closed for a limited time during paving and asphalt placement in this work zone.

The new signal at the Hart Street intersection was expected to be operational as of Wednesday, June 11.

The lights will flash red with stop signs remaining in place while work continues on the intersection’s southeast corner. Once the concrete work is completed, the lights will be switched to their normal function.

An updated pedestrian signal has been added to the southeast corner light.

On South Main Street, work will begin to install the box culvert at Cemetery Creek within the next few weeks. Check signage in that area for more specific information.

Finally, work has begun on installing the new storm drain pipe in the section of Main Street form Parmalee Street to Brock Street. There will be occasional lane closures and reduced speeds in that work zone.
