Johnson County School District #1 Superintendent Charles Auzqui, in a release this week, has given his recommendation to fill the vacant principal position at the Kaycee K-12 School.

Auzqui said he will recommend Mrs. Elizabeth Fauber to serve in that position for the 2025-26 school year, saying the recommendation will be formally presented to the school board for consideration at a special meeting scheduled for Wednesday, July 9.

The need to fill the position stemmed from the previous principal, Jake Evans, being named as the principal of Buffalo High School.

In Auzqui’s release, he said Fauber is a highly-qualified, community-invested leader who serves as a 5th grade teacher at the Kaycee School, and has a deep knowledge of the school sctructure, scheduling, and strong connections to the Kaycee community.

The opening for the 5th grade position in Kaycee was posted on July 1 and scheduled to be filled on July 14.
