On April 7, the Sheridan City Council approved Ordinance 2287 on third and final reading. The ordinance amended the M-1 zoning district to add heavy industrial uses to the list of uses requiring a Special Exemption by the Board of Adjustment, and created a new M-2 zoning district that allows for light and heavy industrial uses with no special exemption required. The Council also approved a resolution at the April 7 meeting authorizing the governing body to grant Special Exemptions to M-1 property owners with an existing heavy industrial use that would be impacted by Ordinance 2287.
The City Council will be considering a resolution at their business meeting Monday, July 7, that would grant special exemptions for eight businesses that have come forward requesting the special exemption. Sheridan Mayor Rich Bridger.
The city-initiated special exemption process terminates on October 6. The Council will also be considering the third and final reading of an ordinance that rezones nine different properties in north Sheridan from B-1 Business District to B-2 Business District. The City Council meeting will take place Monday, at 5:30 pm in Council Chambers on the third floor of Sheridan City Hall.
