News – Sheridan Media

The Wyoming Business Council remains focused on building a stronger, more resilient Wyoming. To achieve this mission, the WBC has crafted new rules for the state’s largest economic development fund – the Business Ready Community grant and loan program. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has more.
To better align with its intent, the BRC grant and loan program that has been a cornerstone for local economic and community development for the past two decades, has been renamed “Building Resilient Communities.” During an interview on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, Wyoming Business Council CEO Josh Dorrell said that to achieve lasting change and reverse negative economic trends, new rules for the grant and loan program must be made.
Public Pulse Host Floyd Whiting posed this question to Dorrell about the 25 percent local match that is one of the new rules of the grant and loan program
Dorrell said as the public comment period on the proposed changes draws to a close, the WBC strongly encourages community leaders who have previously applied for BRC funding or who may consider applying in the future to share their valuable insights. The deadline to submit comments is 11:59 pm on Sunday, July 27. More information on the new rules and how you can submit a comment can be found here.
