SCSD#1 Board of Trustees Approves Budget, Student Handbook

The SCSD#1 Board of Trustees met on Wednesday, July 16, with a light agenda. The meeting recessed into a public hearing on the budget for the upcoming year, but there was no input from the public on the budget.

Resuming the regular meeting, Business Manager Jeremy Smith added,

The board approved the budget for the upcoming year.

Superintendent Dr. Jeff Jones reported to about the school’s streaming service,

The board approved several policies, including policy CKA, the Concealed Carry Policy on the second reading.

Jones added about the policy

According to the policy, an employee or volunteer must possess and maintain a valid Wyoming Concealed Carry Permit pursuant to W.S. § 6-8-104. Also, the employee or volunteer must maintain the firearm on their person or in a district issued lock box.

If an employee or volunteer wishes to take additional training, the school district may reimburse the individual one time up to a specified amount. The individual shall provide valid proof of successful completion of the additional training to the superintendent of the school district.

The board also approved the 2025-2026 student handbook and the extra duty slate.

Next meeting will be August 19 at the district office in Ranchester.
