Jo Co Commission Approves Budget Motions, Resolutions

Johnson County’s Commissioners have approved their 2025-26 Budget Motions and Resolutions.

Commission Chair Bill Novotny opened the Public Hearing on the budget, and then closed it with no members of the public offering comment.

The commission then considered motions to approve 8 mills for the Town of Kaycee; 8 mills for the City of Buffalo; and the mill levy request from the Johnson County School District.

Novotny also detailed the mill levy requests for the Special Districts in the county.

The commission also considered the mill levy requests for the Jim Gatchell Museum, Johnson County Library, and Johnson County Fair, as highlighted by Novotny.

The commission voted to approve all of the mill levy requests.
