Free and open to the public, the 2025 Constitution Day Celebration at Sheridan High School will feature a special guest speaker, former Wyoming Supreme Court Justice Marilyn Kite, alongside students from the nationally recognized We the People program.

Isabel Wallop of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America and attorney Pat McCune said the students that make up the SHS We the People team are shining examples of citizens learning the process that created the framework of the US.

The celebration is set for Sept. 17, marking the date in 1787 when the Founding Fathers signed the U.S. Constitution.

The event will include a We the People student showcase, where Sheridan High School students demonstrate their knowledge of government and the Constitution through simulated congressional-style hearings. Sheridan’s team has won the Wyoming state championship multiple times and recently earned top honors at the 2025 National Finals in Washington, D.C.

Community involvement remains central to the celebration. Local lineage societies, including the Daughters of the American Revolution, will participate in the day’s activities. The evening will also feature Constitution trivia, designed to make learning about the nation’s founding document engaging and fun.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. Wed. Sept. 17, at the Sheridan High School Auditorium.
