The Wyoming Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) has received a large response since opening its priority application season on September 2, 2025. Currently, LIEAP is only accepting applications from priority households: seniors ages 60 and over; families with children five and under; and individuals with disabilities. All other eligible Wyoming households can apply starting October 1, 2025 through April 30, 2026.
LIEAP helps eligible seniors and families pay a portion of winter heating bills for natural gas, electricity, propane, coal, wood, and other fuel types. LIEAP also provides crisis assistance, covering heating emergencies like broken furnaces, empty fuel tanks, and utility issues. The program helps both homeowners and renters, including those in permanently parked RVs. Households must meet LIEAP income requirements, with a limit of up to 60 percent of the state’s median income. More information on the LIEAP program and how you can apply, can be found here. You can also apply by calling 1-800-246-4221.
