Sheridan County YMCA Executive Director Liz Cassiday appeared on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to provide an update on the Give Your Heart to a Child Campaign.
The Give Your Heart to a Child Campaign is the YMCA’s annual fundraiser for its scholarship program, which ensures every community member can participate in YMCA activities regardless of financial circumstances. For those who qualify, the scholarships cover program fees and memberships.
Cassiday said the campaign continues to benefit from dedicated donors and expressed her gratitude to everyone who has stepped up to support the scholarships, even as many families face financial challenges this year.

The campaign began on Oct. 12 with a goal of raising more than $290,000. Cassiday said staff and volunteers have already secured approximately 30 % of that goal.
She emphasized that scholarship applications are handled with complete discretion—even she does not know who receives assistance. Cassiday reassured listeners that her staff and volunteers will continue making calls and canvassing the community to raise the funds that so many rely on.
