Certification Resolution for County Subdivision Tabled by City Council

December 17, 2025

News – Sheridan Media

In April of 2022, the City of Sheridan and Sheridan County entered into a memorandum of understanding regarding the subdivision of land within one mile of the contiguous corporate limits. The MOU outlines the responsibilities of the two jurisdictions in reviewing and taking action on development proposals within the Joint Planning Area and stipulates that City staff and the City Council shall have the opportunity to make comments and suggestions on development plans in the area.

An agenda item at Monday night’s Sheridan City Council meeting was consideration of a resolution certifying that the governing body has reviewed the final plat of the Bucking Iron Business Park, a County subdivision located within the Joint Planning Area. City Planner Kelly Schroeder says the proposal is to subdivide 20 acres into six industrial use lots at 170 East Ridge Road.

Following a public hearing on the certification resolution, the City Council voted to table the item until their next business meeting due to concerns over water capacity and fire protection services.
