Sheridan College will soon offer a way for students to get into the field of graphic design.
Thanks to approval from the College’s Board of Trustees at last month’s meeting, the College will soon offer a certificate of completion in the profession.
According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of graphic designers in all occupations is projected to increase by 3% between 2021 and 2031.
College President Dr. Walter Tribley says the College has already been offering some of the coursework and that the profession is growing.
“We’re taking existing courses and putting it together in a comprehensive package that students can have access to and complete relatively quickly. Having graphics design as part of your skill set is certainly a valuable part of an employee’s portfolio when they go for a new job or even within many of our existing jobs in today’s marketplace.”
Dr. Tribley adds he estimates the certificate of completion will be available as early as the fall semester of this year, once the program is approved by both the Wyoming Community College Commission and the Higher Learning Commission.
