Washington State Woman Sentenced to Prison for Drug Trafficking

A 29-year-old woman from the state of Washington was sentenced to prison Tuesday in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan for multiple drug charges. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

Washington State Woman Sentenced to Prison for Drug Trafficking

District Court Judge Darci Phillips accepted the terms of the plea agreement reached between the defendant and the State, and sentenced Christina Morlan to 3 to 5 years in prison for each of the following three felony charges; endangering children for knowingly having methamphetamine in a vehicle with a child present, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver – methamphetamine, and possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine. The sentences will run concurrent to one another.

Morlan was given credit for 228 days time served of presentence confinement and was ordered to pay $775 in court costs and assessments.  Morlan was arrested on June 7, 2025, after dispatch received a report of a family dispute in the parking lot of Taco Bell just before 6 pm. Shortly after officers with the Sheridan Police Department arrived on scene, it was determined that the fracas involved a vehicle with Washington plates. A female, Morlan, was behind the wheel, a male, 29-year-old Anthony Brower was in the passenger’s seat, and Morlan’s two-year-old child was in the backseat.

A search of the vehicle yielded various drug paraphernalia and 36 grams of methamphetamine. Both Morlan and Brower were placed under arrest and booked into the Sheridan County Detention Center. Morlan was transporting the methamphetamine from Washington state to Kansas.

Also from District Court Tuesday:

An arraignment hearing was held Tuesday in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan for 38-year-old Calvert Sayer. At the hearing, Sayer pleaded not guilty to one count of felony theft. Between October 10 and October 25 of 2025, Sayer allegedly made over $1,200 in unauthorized cash withdrawals from checking and money market accounts belonging to Rex Clark.

Following Sayer’s plea of not guilty, District Court Judge Darci Phillips scheduled a #5 stack two-day jury trial to begin on Monday, June 1. A pretrial conference will take place April 30 at 10:30 am. Sayer’s bond was continued under the same terms and conditions that were previously set in Sheridan County Circuit Court. The charge of felony theft is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

According to court documents, Clark reported the alleged criminal activity to the Sheridan Police Department on October 30, 2025. A subsequent investigation led to Sayer’s arrest.
