In November, Sheridan County School District No. 2 Superintendent of Schools Scott Stults announced his plan to retire at the end of the 2025-2026 school year. Stults has served SCSD2 for a total of 27 years. The past 5 years as Superintendent, and the other 22 years in a variety of school and district leadership roles.
The SCSD2 Board of Trustees has selected four finalists for the Superintendent position, with interviews slated for February 3 and 4:
Rebecca Adsit – Assistant Superintendent for Instruction/Human Resources Sheridan County School District No. 2.
Charles Christensen – Superintendent of Schools Sheridan County School District No. 3,
Scott Cleland – Sheridan High School Principal Sheridan County School District No. 2
Jennifer Strong – Strategic Implementation Specialist Growth Collaborative Consulting, Oklahoma
“We are proud to see Superintendent Stults transition into a state-wide leadership role as Executive Director of WASA (Wyoming Association of School Administrators), a move that reflects the high caliber of leadership within SCSD2,” said SCSD2 Board Chair Shane Rader. “Following a comprehensive national search, we have identified an impressive pool of finalists who will now participate in a rigorous interview process. Our priority is to find a leader who embodies the integrity, trust, and approachability our district values. We are confident that this group contains a leader of high character who will continue our tradition of excellence and community partnership, aligning with our mission of preparing every student for success.”
Candidates will interview with a variety of stakeholders, including district teachers, principals, members of the central administrative team, and the Board of Trustees.
District staff, students, parents, and members of the public are encouraged to participate in the Community Forum scheduled on Wednesday, February 4, at 6:30 p.m., in the Early Building Auditorium, Sheridan Junior High School Forum.
