The Sheridan-Johnson Counties Local Board of the Wyoming Community Foundation hosted an event at the Food Group in Sheridan Wednesday to hear from the various nonprofit organizations that received grants during the Foundation’s fall grant cycle. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has more.
Since 1989, the Wyoming Community Foundation has connected people who care with causes that matter to build a better Wyoming. The WYCF has granted more than $120 million to charitable causes while also providing a variety of support to nonprofit agencies.
It was recently announced that the Sheridan-Johnson Counties Local Board of the Wyoming Community Foundation awarded $76,500 in grants to 12 different nonprofit organizations in Sheridan and Johnson Counties through the Foundation’s fall grant cycle. WYCF Associate Director of Donor Stewardship Salvador Madrigal says that building stronger communities is a team effort.
WYCF Director of Philanthropy Rachel Bailey talks about the importance of the competitive grants.
Madrigal said they have two grant cycles a year, one in the spring and one in the fall and that applications for the spring grant cycle have to be submitted by March 15.
You can access the Wyoming Community Foundation’s website here. We’ll hear from one of the recent grant recipients in Sheridan in a future story.
