Recently, The Brinton Museum welcomed students, families, educators, and community members to two opening receptions celebrating the All-Schools 5th Grade Student Art Show, an annual exhibition highlighting the creativity of young artists from across the region.

The first 5th Grade Student Art Show debuted in 2016 in the Forrest E. Mars, Jr. Building and has since become a highly anticipated tradition at The Brinton Museum. The exhibition features nearly 200 student projects in both two- and three-dimensional media, created by 5th-grade students from Sheridan County School Districts 1 and 2 as well as homeschool students.

To honor the students and their work, The Brinton Museum hosted two opening receptions: one for Sheridan County School District 2 on Friday, February 6, and another for Sheridan County School District 1 on Saturday, February 7.

Together, the receptions welcomed 384 community members who gathered to view the artwork, celebrate the students’ achievements, and support arts education in the region. The Brinton Museum extends its sincere thanks to the participating students, teachers, school administrators, parents, homeschool families, and volunteers who made this exhibition possible.

The museum is also grateful to the many community members who attended the receptions and helped create such a supportive and encouraging environment for these young artists.

The All Schools 5th Grade Student Art Show remains on view through March 2, offering visitors the opportunity to experience the imagination, skill, and perspective of the next generation of artists.

This exhibition and related programs are funded in part with generous support from the Edwin T. Meredith Foundation, Tucker Foundation, and additional community partners.

Founded in 1960, The Brinton Museum is dedicated to preserving and presenting the art, history, and cultures of the American West. Located on the historic Quarter Circle A Ranch near Big Horn, Wyoming, the museum features Fine Art and American Indian Art collections, historic structures, and expansive grounds that connect visitors to the land and stories of the region.

Admission to The Brinton Museum is free, thanks to generous community support.
