State Representative Marilyn Connolly (R-HD40) talked with Sheridan Media about the first couple of weeks of this year’s legislative session.

She highlighted school recalibration, which work began on last week, saying the House has essentially killed it in that body, leaving the Senate to work through the issue.

According to betterwyo.org, Recalibration is the process the Legislature uses to determine how much money school districts need to provide students with a quality and equitable education.

Lawmakers examine what it currently costs to deliver a modern education: teachers, books, computers, etc., and then “recalibrate” the formula the state uses to allocate funding to school districts.

This week the House has been working on the budget bill and we will have more in upcoming stories.
