Johnson County’s Commissioners have approved a request from the Lake DeSmet Advisory Board to increase the annual fee for landowners to have temporary private docks at the lake.

Lake DeSmet Operations Manager Paul Mavrakis spoke to the commission about the increase in fees.

Mavrakis said the advisory board voted to recommend the increase in the fee for the private docks from $50 to $250 annually, which the county commission then voted to approve.
