On March 10, Arvada-Clearmont school held the first round of their second annual Amazing Shake contest, designed to strengthen students’ leadership, professionalism, and communication skills.

Sixteen students participated, and as the scores were totaled, eight students went on the final round. Then, four moved into the semi-final round, and then the two finalists, Wyatt Holland, ACHS Senior and his sister, Jesse Holland, a freshman, when into the last round of the competition.

In the final round, the two top students interviewed with Dr. Walt Tribley President of Sheridan College and Whitney Benefits board member Mr. Roy Garber.

At the Panther Claw Ceremony on March 19, Jennifer Betz, activities director and one of the Amazing Shake coordinators, announced the winner.

Wyatt was presented with the Amazing Shake Belt, and he has bragging rights for the rest of the school year. He can also take the skills learned here with him after graduation. He was asked what he had to do to win the competition.

His mother, Aubrey Holland said she was very proud of both her youngsters placing so high in the competition.

She added about Wyatt’s winning the competition and his future plans.

Aubrey and her husband, Jake Hollard, live in Clearmont with their family and Aubrey is the chef at Clearmont School.

Superintendent Chase Christensen said that the students did ‘fantastic’ in the competition, and he added a thank you to the staff and students for the work they put into the Amazing Shake this year.

Clearmont School congratulates the winner of the competition, as well as all those who participated.
