Sheridan Police Department Chief Travis Koltiska and Captain Tom Ringley appeared on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to discuss traffic enforcement data for 2025 within the City of Sheridan.
The data reflects traffic enforcement handled by SPD officers. Ringley said some of the 2025 data is influenced by changes made last year to the types of crashes the department is required to report to the state.

Alcohol-related crashes dropped 53% in 2025. Arrests for DUI decreased by 2.5%. Ringley said the average age of those arrested for DUI has increased over time and is now approximately 55 years or older.
The SPD has partnered with organizations such as Sheridan Memorial Hospital on anti-drinking and driving campaigns and continues to enforce TIPS training for alcohol servers. Koltiska said changes in how establishments approach over-serving alcohol have contributed to the decline, crediting local businesses for helping reduce impaired driving.
