The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce recently hosted a Legislative wrap-up breakfast this week where members of the local legislative delegation were on hand to provide details on the recently completed budget session in Cheyenne. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has more.
The Legislative wrap-up consisted of each member of the local delegation providing an update on the 2026 Legislative Budget Session that concluded on March 11. There was time at the end for those in attendance to address the Legislators and ask questions. Former State Senator and former Mayor of Sheridan Dave Kinskey addressed one of the hot button issues of the budget session – funding for the Wyoming Business Council.
Senate President Bo Biteman responded to Kinskey’s concerns over the cut in funding to the Business Council.
The $9.9 billion biennial budget that the Legislature approved last month includes approximately $12 to $14 million for the Business Council to operate for one year, while lawmakers examine potential reforms to the economic development agency.
