The annual Clearmont Clear Creek Recreation District (CCRD) Easter Egg hunt drew a good crowd of youngsters from ages 0-12. Due to the weather, the hunt was moved indoors in the A/C School and recreation district building.

The youngsters found candy filled Easter eggs and entered their names in a drawing for prizes, donated by the Clearmont Community Church.

Amy Rowe, director of the CCRD, said there was some concern about this years event.

She added that some years they fill 3000 plastic eggs, but this year they ran out of candy, donated by the Clearmont Women’s Club, and the roads were closed so they could not go to town and purchase more.

Possibly due to the adverse weather on Friday, with the roads still bad in some spots, the attendance of the egg hunters was down this year, but those attending were able to find a lot of eggs.

Marcus Schneck, one of Amy Rowe’s sons, said he got to hunt eggs one year at the Easter Egg hunt before he was too old to participate. Now he gets to help hide the eggs.

Pastor Mark King, new pastor of the Clearmont community church. commented on the Easter season.

Tana and Trevor Lutterman, who ranch down on Tipperary Road along Crazy Woman Creek, brought their youngsters up to the hunt.

Amy Rowe added about some upcoming events happening at the CCRD.

There were cinnamon rolls prepared by school chef Aubrey Holland, and the youngsters who attended went home with prizes and a lot of Easter candy.
