Volunteers at The Hub on Smith play a central role in delivering services to older adults across Sheridan County, supporting an organization that serves more than 3,300 people each year. The nonprofit senior center relies on a large network of community volunteers who assist with daily meals, transportation services, social programming and outreach efforts designed to help residents age independently.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, HUB on Smith People Coordinator Callie Trampe said volunteer efforts take place year-round at The Hub’s facility on Smith Street and throughout the community, including meal delivery routes and transit support. Trampe said committed volunteers contribute time, skills and companionship that directly improve quality of life for local seniors while also strengthening community connections.

The Hub will recognize those contributions during Volunteer Appreciation Week, observed the week of April 20.

The Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast scheduled from 7 to 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, at the Hub on Smith will feature a free breakfast, prize giveaways and recognition for those who serve.

Trampe said the ongoing need for volunteers remains strong, with opportunities available for individuals of all backgrounds.

If you would like to volunteer your time, contact Callie Trampe, at (307)675–4953 at The Hub on Smith to learn more about how to get involved.
