The Ucross Foundation is presenting Resilience, an exhibition at the Ucross Art Gallery highlighting the work of Indigenous artists from across the United States.
The exhibit features the 2025 recipients of the Ucross Fellowship for Native American Artists and is curated by artist and University of Oklahoma professor Marwin Begaye.
Exploring the resilience of Indigenous artists across generations, the exhibition features work by the 2025 recipients of the Ucross Fellowship for Native American Artists, including sculptor Gina Herrera of Tesuque Pueblo in Bakersfield, California; writer Annette Saunooke Clapsaddle of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in Cherokee, North Carolina; mixed-media artist Wade Patton of the Oglala Lakota in Rapid City, South Dakota; and visual and performance artist Sarah Ortegon HighWalking of the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho in Fort Washakie, Wyoming.
During an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse with Ucross Foundation Communications Associate Emi Whiting, Begaye said this collection explores themes of cultural resilience, identity and the connection between art, heritage and place.
