City of Sheridan Parks Director Steve Gage appeared on Public Pulse to announce his team has begun the annual spring cleanup across all parks and greenspaces, marking the transition into the warmer season.

Gage said the parks and facilities crews are working throughout the system to remove winter debris, rake and mulch grounds, and prepare turf areas for increased use. Staff are also assessing lawn conditions and establishing schedules for aeration and fertilization to support healthy growth.

The parks crew has begun the seasonal startup and testing of irrigation systems to ensure proper operation ahead of peak watering months. Playground safety inspections are also underway to confirm equipment is safe and ready for public use. In addition, landscape and planting beds are being cleaned and prepared for the growing season.

Weed and Pest crews will begin early-season treatments, including larvicide applications for mosquito control and pre-emergent herbicide use in landscape beds to help prevent weed growth.
